From Components to Sale: How “MWF-Detectors” Manages Production with “Edara”

A finished device may look like a single product, but its journey starts much earlier. Components need to be purchased or imported, production costs need to be recorded, and the materials used in assembly need to be linked to the final product. Once the device is ready, it also needs its own serial number and warranty details.

“MWF-Detectors” uses “Edara” to keep these stages connected, from receiving components and assembling devices to managing inventory and selling through B2B channels and its online store.

Production Starts Before Assembly

Based in Turkey, “MWF-Detectors” manufactures and sells devices for detecting metals, gold, and underground water.

The company builds its devices using different raw materials and parts, including imported components. Tracking therefore starts when these components enter warehouses, not only when the finished device is ready.

This allows the company to follow the materials used in production and connect them to the devices created from them.

Keeping Components and Production Costs Connected

“MWF-Detectors” uses the manufacturing module in “Edara” to create a bill of materials (BOM) for each device. The BOM lists the components needed for production and keeps them linked to the finished product and its cost.

A print option developed for the company also allows the BOM to include details of the raw materials and their costs. This gives the team a clear document that can be reviewed when needed.

Production costs can also be shown or hidden for specific users. This allows each user to access the information required for their work while keeping sensitive cost data limited to authorized team members.

Tracking the Device and Its Warranty

Producing several units of the same model does not make them identical from a tracking point of view. Each device needs its own record, even when its specifications match other units.

“MWF-Detectors” records every device using its individual serial number in “Edara”. It also uses the “Related Serial” feature to link the device to a separate warranty serial number.

This makes it easier to find the records of a specific device and its warranty without relying only on the product name or model.

From Import Costs to “WooCommerce” Sales

“MWF-Detectors” tracks the costs related to importing components before they are used in production. This provides a more complete view of device costs that includes both importing and assembly.

After production, the device is added to inventory with its serial and warranty details. It can then be sold through the company’s B2B channels or its online store.

The company’s “WooCommerce” store is connected to “Edara”, bringing online sales into the same workflow as manufacturing, inventory, and other sales channels.

One Connected Journey for Every Device

For “MWF-Detectors”, tracking a device does not begin when production ends. It starts with the components used to build it.

With “Edara”, the company can follow each device from imported parts and production costs to assembly, serial and warranty records, and finally its sale through a B2B channel or the online store.
